Secondary (Grades 7-12)

Lakeview’s secondary program (grades 7-12) is faith-based and God-centered. In the secondary program LCS continues instruction in the foundational courses—English, math, history, and science.  Our elective courses include two foreign language courses (American Sign Language and Spanish), fines arts courses (art, band, and choir), and other options, such as yearbook and business courses, on a rotating basis.  Additionally, students are required to take a Bible course each year, with classes meeting every day, and attend a weekly chapel service.

Julie Hertzog earned her BA in Psychology from Milligan College (’98) and her MA in School Counseling (’17) from Indiana Wesleyan University.  She is licensed as a K-12 School Counselor by the IDOE and is a member of ASCA and ISCA.  Previously, Julie worked for two years as an elementary counselor at a local public school, and prior to that, was employed as a special education paraprofessional for four years and volunteered in her church’s special needs ministry for nearly a decade.  Mrs. Hertzog enjoys helping kids discover their unique God-given gifts and enjoys coming alongside families and partnering with valuable community resources to help students overcome obstacles and to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
